Five linemen plus X and Z are on the line; H, S, QB, and RB are off. That is eleven offensive players and seven on the line, with X and Z as the uncovered ends. Eligible numbers and proper set positions are assumed. Four receivers run routes while five linemen and the staying back form the selected six-player protection. The reference defense shows four down linemen and two high safeties without proving a post-snap coverage.

Route depths, the mirrored package and protection are declared teaching choices. Coverage must be confirmed after the snap. A cornerback read alone does not establish a safe throwing window; safety leverage, pressure, timing and staff adjustments still matter. The hitches stop, and the back has no release route on this call.

How much separation remains at arrival?
relative position at arrival = receiver position − defender position
Compare positions in the same field frame at the same arrival time. Illustrative positions of (20, 12) yd for a receiver and (20, 5) yd for a corner give a relative position of (0, 7) yd and a separation of 7 yd. These are assumed values, not measurements from the drawing.
That separation from one defender is not a completion probability. The safety, ball trajectory, route changes and player reach remain relevant.
