MJ PHYSICS ENGINEERING · MANUAL FILM LAB

Put one play under the physics lens.

Mark the snap, map player movement to the field, and get a readable explanation of speed, separation, leverage, and the Bangel state loop. MJos is the operating system and the predictive model.

What this does Turns your marked frames and observations into an educational physics receipt. It does not automatically identify schemes or store your video.

SOURCE

Bring one or two plays

Opening a link contacts YouTube; local video and your measurements are never uploaded. The player is embedded for review. You enter timestamps and field coordinates because YouTube does not expose film frames to this browser tool.

Time step is 1/30 s, not a frame guarantee. Fine-tune with the scrubber.

Register football context

These labels are entered by you. The alpha does not present them as machine-verified scheme recognition.

FIELD REGISTRATION

Calibrate distance

Pause on a clear frame. Define a visible field rectangle, then click its four corners around the perimeter: origin (0,0), length endpoint (L,0), opposite (L,W), width endpoint (0,W). Length and width follow your selected field axes.

  1. Origin (0,0)
  2. Length (L,0)
  3. Opposite (L,W)
  4. Width (0,W)

For a sideline angle, use two yard lines ten yards apart and both sidelines when visible. Four ground-plane corners define a perspective homography. Starting a new registration clears all tracks to establish a common origin. Changing dimensions clears calibrated points; review remaining manual coordinates. Camera motion is not detected automatically.

TRACKING

Plot two bodies through time

With calibrated local film: pause, click “Plot current frame,” then click the player’s ground contact point (feet on the field plane). Move to a later frame and repeat. Add at least two points per player.

OR ENTER FIELD COORDINATES

Use one common origin and axes for both players, matching the rectangle above. Coordinates must be inside its dimensions. Blank values are unknown, never zero.
